The Process

Initial Consult

We meet on site where I listen to your ideas & vision for your property and discover its unique features.

The Proposal

You’ll receive an emailed document detailing the brief, clarifying your needs and wishes. Included is the scope of works, which shows what you can expect of the design process, with associated fees.

The Concept Design - the first design phase

Most sites will need a topographical survey. If you don’t have one, we can arrange it for you. For smaller blocks, measurements may be taken in-house.

Careful attention is devoted to crafting a comfortably functional space that brings joy and usability into your garden.

The design process also encompasses the following:

  •      Understanding council and planning regulations in relation to your block

  •      BYDA search to know where services are

  •      Carry out an in-depth site analysis to understand all the elements within and those impacting your site

  •      Explore design opportunities and constraints

  •      Evaluating the local environment and its unique spirit of place

  •      Considering all the possible design solutions for your site

We meet to discuss the concept design with elevations or sketches to visually explain the design intent. Amendments can be made at this stage before detailed digital design commences.

Landscape Plans – the second design phase

Detailed Vectorworks digital plans are drawn up, to scale, including Planting Plans and Schedules with notes, specified to meet site specific criteria, Materials Plans with notes and relevant Elevations.

3D imagery is presented at this stage if you’d like these perspectives included in your package.

Project Development

Once the landscape design is approved, recommended contractors can be suggested, or you may engage your preferred landscapers/contractors.

Plant delivery, placement, and installation are coordinated between the designer and landscaper.

Detailed construction documents can be prepared for particular design elements.

Contractors can meet the designer onsite for a walkthrough of the plans to facilitate accurate quoting.

Onsite consultations between the designer and contractors during construction ensure a smooth process, essential for maintaining top quality, with the designer available to address any questions.

Ongoing maintenance contractors can also be arranged or if being hands on to establish your garden suits you...enjoy!
